Emeco 1006 Navy Barstool - Brushed or Polished Aluminium

Emeco 1006 Navy barstool constructed using recycled aluminium. Each 1006 bar stool is made to order by hand in the USA by skilled Emeco craftsmen. Please expect a longer than usual lead time (the polished version can take up to 16 weeks).

The Emeco 1006 Navy chair was originally commissioned by the US Navy for use on submarines in 1944. The now iconic Navy chair has been in continuous production ever since. The barstool version of the Navy chair is made by hand and goes through a 77 step process.

The skilled Emeco craftsmen take recycled aluminium, hand form it and weld it – then temper it for strength. Finally, the stool is anodised for a durable finish.

The 1006 Navy Bar Stool is part of our Emeco Bar Stools collection and can be nicely combined with the Emeco 1006 Navy Chair and the Emeco 1006 Navy Counter Stool.

The 1006 bar stool has exactly the same distinctive shape and proportions to the Emeco 111 Navy Bar Stool (made entirely from recycled materials) and is available in brushed and hand polished versions.

About Emeco Furniture

Emeco (The Electric Machine and Equipment Company) was founded in 1944 by Wilton C. Dinges in the USA. The first chair they produced was the 1006 Navy Chair, commissioned to be used by the US Navy for use on warships (the contract even specified that it had to be able to withstand a torpedo blast!).

Today the furniture is still made in the USA using 80% recycled aluminium. Every piece of furniture is made by hand, by the Emeco craftsmen – going through a 77 step process. Some of the world's best architects and designers have collaborated with Emeco to design chairs that are built and guaranteed to last a lifetime.
