Emeco 111 Navy chair is made entirely from recycled materials (111 recycled plastic drinking bottles to be precise).
This Emeco chair was born from a collaboration between Coca-Cola and Emeco to solve an environmental problem: can plastic bottles be used as the source material to create a sustainable, timeless, classic chair? The 111 Navy chair is the result of that successful union.
The 111 Navy chair has exactly the same distinctive shape and proportions to the iconic cast aluminium cousin – the Emeco 1006 Navy chair and is available in 7 colours (Red, Grass - Green, Beach, Persimmon - Orange, Snow - White, Flint - Grey and Charcoal).
Emeco 111 Navy Chair is part of our Emeco dining chairs collection and can be nicely combined with the Emeco 111 Navy Counter Stool or the Emeco 111 Navy Barstool.

Emeco (The Electric Machine and Equipment Company) was founded in 1944 by Wilton C. Dinges in the USA. The first chair they produced was the 1006 Navy Chair, commissioned to be used by the US Navy for use on warships (the contract even specified that it had to be able to withstand a torpedo blast!).
Today the furniture is still made in the USA using 80% recycled aluminium. Every piece of furniture is made by hand, by the Emeco craftsmen – going through a 77 step process. Some of the world's best architects and designers have collaborated with Emeco to design chairs that are built and guaranteed to last a lifetime.
There mission is carry on making furniture that lasts, but also to make a positive impact on the environment. They use waste recycled materials in products that use as little energy as possible in the manufacturing process to build strong, durable chairs and stools.
